Summer Around the World

From July 7 to August 25, Centropolis’ Place Centrale is taking on a festival atmosphere, welcoming you to experience a summer of world vacations. For an exciting summer with international flavours, come on over!


Come enjoy the pedestrian promenade, some world music, dancing performances, fun evenings of games hosted by the RANDOLPH (5.30 p.m. to 8 p.m.), street art, and local and international cuisine to savour on the terrace!

July 7, 8 PM: Bumaranga  • Afrocolombian music

A celebration of festive Colombian rhythms! The Bumaranga group invites you to discover and enjoy Colombia’s music, in a fusion of sounds honouring the roots and essence of Afro-Colombian music. Let yourself be carried away by the powerful rhythms of traditional drums, and join in the dance.


July 14, 8 PM: Christine Tassan et les Imposteures • French music

Celebrate July 14th with music! Come celebrate the French national holiday with some of the world’s leading gypsy jazz musicians! Christine Tassan and Les Imposteures have brought together Félix Leclerc’s and Django Reinhardt’s finest pieces, paying tribute to these great artists who, on their respective continents, have left their mark on time and culture.


July 21, 8 PM: Smokin’ DeVille • American Rockabilly - CANCELLED BECAUSE OF THE TEMPERATURE

Take a trip back to the 1950s for one evening! Smokin’ DeVille includes five vintage music enthusiasts to bring 50’s music back to life. In a fringe rockabilly style, influenced by the surf, swing and rock’n’roll music of the era, the group delivers roaring performances, full of originality and spirit.


July 28, 8 PM: Veils of Bollywood • Indian dancing

A dance performance influenced by Bollywood magic! Dance collective Veils of Bollywood is inspired by Bollywood and Indian folk dance traditions. Through community outreach and engagement, the multicultural dance company seeks to educate, inspire and celebrate cultural diversity through performance and art.


August 4, 8 PM: Burning BRASs Band • New Orleans style brass band

A home-grown modern brass band! The Quebec-based Burning BRASs Band presents a pop, jazz and funk repertoire, with instruments inspired by New Orleans’ traditional brass bands. Musicians revisit various pop music classics in festive, exhilarating funk arrangements.


August 11, 8 PM: Ayrad • Traditional Moroccan music

An invitation to an eclectic universe, in which traditional Moroccan music is freed to take on a modern air. Ayrad combines electro, gypsy funk, desert rock, raï, reggada, chaabi and Latin grooves in a unique blend that attracts adventurous audiences and enthralls world music fans. Their synergistic power leaves no one indifferent.


August 18, 8 PM: Saya Percussion • African Rhythms

Warm your hands and your spirit in a participative percussion adventure with African rhythms! Saya Percussion presents an African participatory performance featuring djembe, dance, song and storytelling. Professional percussionists from Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Senegal will transport you directly to Africa! Audiences are invited to play, sing and dance along with enthusiastic percussionist hosts.


August 25, 8 PM: Tribu Salsa Band • Latin dancing

Let salsa grab hold of you, no matter how experienced you are on the dance floor! The Tribu Salsa Band was born in 2021, under Parc Jarry’s sunny skies, when a group of passionate musicians from diverse backgrounds rallied together to share their love of salsa dura. With decades of experience and energy to spare, the band’s 12 members promise to put on a rousing show!
