A new light experience is coming to Centropolis to help brighten your winter!

Starting in late November and continuing until the snow melts in spring, Centropolis’ Place Centrale comes alive with a dazzling new digital installation! Every evening after dark, we invite you to experience an impressive light show and soundtrack that will evolve throughout the winter. Be amazed by the digital ingenuity and modern storytelling of an installation that will transport you to the heart of the Milky Way!

The inspiration behind the installation 

From the moment we look up at the sky, we are awestruck by the beauty of the constellations and the vastness of the Milky Way. We find ourselves imagining an intergalactic journey, exploring new galaxies, discovering luminous stars, and bringing back a little stardust to continue the dream on Earth. Since these celestial destinations are light years away, we invite you to experience this cosmic journey right in the heart of Centropolis, with the light installation Destination Voie lactée.

Light is, of course, the main source of inspiration at the heart of this digital installation: it attracts, warms, and inspires. Next, a circular configuration that embodies harmony and inclusivity brings us together. Finally, the starry sky, which inspires us to dream all year round, was a key source of inspiration for the installation. It appears on light towers, forming a multitude of constellations that make up the Milky Way. We won’t say we’ve reached for the stars for you, but it’s pretty close!

An innovative light installation 

The glittering digital installation consists of seven towers, ranging from 20 to 25 feet in height, rising skyward and shining like stars. The elaborate light displays will make you feel as if you are in the heart of the Milky Way. The colour palette and effects projected onto the ground will evolve as winter progresses.

Each visit to the heart of the installation in Place Centrale promises a different, fresh, and always immersive experience. Be sure to stop by regularly to see all variations!
